The museum of Olive and Greek Olive Oil was founded by the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (P.I.O.P.) in the heart of Laconia, one of the main olive producing locations of Greece.

Entering the prehistoric cave in Alepotrypa in Diros, visitors can see findings from the excavations that denoted the existence of a large dynamic Neolithic community that lived and prospered inside the cave from 5300 till 3200 B.C.
